We’re now selling balance bikes on early years at home and we’ve had a great response from customers. Balance bikes are a great way to learn how to ride and balance at a young age. They help kids develop motor skills and muscle groups needed later in life.
We think many children could skip the stabalisers and go straight for the balance bike. Kids can use their feet to stabalise themselves so they learn how to push themselves carefully from side to side naturally and therefore learn how to adjust their body weight in order gain balance. Kids learn how to ride much more quickly like this.
What are your thoughts on balance bikes?
They are brilliant! They stop kids thinking that they need additional support, so give them more confidence when they eventually move to a bike with pedals. By far the best way of learning to ride.
These bikes are fantastic. They teach children balance. Then they can easily transfer onto bikes with peddles, missing out the useless stabilisers. Also, competent children can ride really fast on them. We have used these at our nursery for the last 6 years. Most children can ride a 2 wheeled bike by the time they start school as a result of these bikes.
I agree!! We bought one for our 2 year old son for xmas one year and he was able to ride his big bike independently 2 weeks before his 3rd birthday in that summer!!! His sister learnt the conventional way and was 5years old!! We did find however that he still needed the ‘pedal’ practice so he used a trike so it was very different to the bike so he wouldn’t get confused…if that makes sense??!! Great bike….Great invention….Great fun !!!!
My son Loves his. We bought him a Kiddimoto about 2 months ago and it was the best thing ive ever bought him. took him 2 days to master it, and now he’s whizzing everywhere. I’ve also seen a huge improvement in his confidence and coordination. Only problem is Daddy’s jealous because its a Troy corser replica!
we bought one from TESCO and in a month my 2 1/2yr old was whizzing around and had got it completley…no probs with his balance..in fact im loathe to buy him a bike with pedals yet as he goes faster and is more confident on the balance bike
4xGew6 Kudos to you! I hadn’t thought of that!
