Hi Sally i found a poster that has all the seasons weather types months and days on, it asks what day.season etc it is and what the weathers like outside and there are boxes for the children to fill themselves.I wrote the answers on seperate cards so they can be blutacked on.If you have a local poundshop thats where I got mine.I’ve also got posters with different animals from pandas to polar bears.whales to ladybirds etc and have a plan to make a frieze on a wall to show the children polar bears live in the snow and its cold, camels live in the dessert and its very hot I,m sure you get the picture.
Hope this helps you

I find that having items readily available in the play environment for the children to interact with and discover the way things work for themselves is a great way to introduce new ideas and concepts and to make them wonderful and exciting. For instance, sets of scales that the children can use whenever they like, to weigh whatever excites them, is a really great unpressurised way for them to begin appreciating relative weight. Also try just putting a magnet in easy reach and watch them discover its properties for themselves.
Well of course fostering a good emotional environment, where the children feel confident and happy to try things is a fundamental to this.A child’s capacity to learn is impeded if their emotional environment is not right. For instance if a child is reprimanded for putting a toy away in the wrong place, they are less likely to want to help tidy up the next day. However if he is thanked for his help and is shown where the toys are kept in a fun way, he will remain eager to join in.
I ALSO HAVE POSTERS UP ON MY WALLS THEY ALWAYS GET THE CHILDREN TALKING I HAVE ALL DIFFERNT ONES WEATHER,TIME,FRUITS, AND EVEN TIMES TABLE AND FRACTIONS EVEN THE LITTLE ONES ARE INTERESTED AND THEY ARE NOT 2 YEARS OLD YET
